There’s really nothing better than celebrating the 4th of July in a mountain town. Nothing can beat getting up and enjoying the crisp morning air before heading off to a small-town parade, grilling in your backyard, and then watching a breathtaking fireworks show in the evening. Here are the events that can’t be missed this year – we give you the Vail 4th of July events for 2017:
Vail America Days Parade
Every year, Vail hosts a 4th of July parade – this year is no exception. The theme this year is “America the Beautiful.” The parade winds slowly through the villages (it starts at Golden Peak), and arrives at Lionshead. Pick a spot anywhere along the route to enjoy the floats. The parade starts at 10am, and sometimes seating can be limited – so claim your spot early!
If you haven’t watched a fireworks display with a mountain as the backdrop, you’re missing out. The annual Vail Fireworks Show starts at dusk (which is approximately 9:30pm) at Golden Peak. The best part? The fireworks display is synchronized with a moving musical soundtrack for full effect.
