People in Colorado really know how to celebrate the arrival of spring. Our spring events are celebrations of the newly arrived warmer weather, while also being a celebration of the awesome ski season we just experienced. Each year, the town of Vail throws a big party called Spring Back to Vail. Here’s a look at this year’s schedule, so you know how to plan for your fun-filled weekend:
Events You Don’t Want to Miss
First, here are the events you just can’t miss (in our opinion):
– Free Live Concert at Ford Park
The free live concert, presented by Bud Light, begins at 5:30pm at Ford Park, on April 15th. The concert features 123GO!, a band formed from members of Dave Matthews Band, Pearl Jam, FUEL, and other great performers. Also performing will be MAGIC! – the band responsible for the billboard-hit “Rude.” This is a night you don’t want to miss!
– Tikis and Tunes Luau
Nothing signals upcoming summer than attending a luau. Before the concert, head to Sarge’s at Mid-Vail for a pig roast, drink specials, live music, games, and giveaways! The event takes place from 12:00pm – 3:00pm, and is a great way to spend a weekend in the moutains.
– World Pond Skimming Championships
If you’ve never watching pond skimming, then you’re missing out. Don’t skip attending the World Pond Skimming Championships taking place on April 15th, at 3pm (at Golden Peak). Competitors will race down the mountain, into a pond, to see which one can make it the farthest. Competitors wear crazy costumes and defy common sense, all for a chance to win a new pair of skis and an Epic Season Pass. Head to the venue at 12:00pm for $3 beer and $3 burgers all day long.
