Fishing Report for the Colorado and Eagle Rivers, Exclusive to Vail.net!

It's a fall-like Monday in beautiful Vail – overcast and cool. What a perfect day to enjoy all of the wonderful things to do in Vail in Summer.

If you like to fish, you'll want to check out Vail.net's custom fishing report, written exclusively for us by Mark Sassi of Gore Creek Fly Fisherman. Here's what Mark says about fishing on the Eagle River right now:

"A ton of warm weather has given way to a plethora of smaller dry fly activity. The clarity on the Eagle resembles your favorite gin and will continue this way daily unless we get a passing shower then look for a partial temporary stain."

Mark gave us the inside scoop this morning on what to fish: "I recently fished with a San Juan worm trailed with a Johnny Flash Emerger in grey size 20 and switched it out with a Sassi's Solution size 20 and caught fish on all three patterns. This time of year expect to see lots of smaller bugs hatching through out the day. Overcast/cloudy days promote Midges and BWO's. Wade with caution and good luck and as long as you dress properly you can't help but have a great day on the river. "
