The Vail Valley has several skate parks that are popular warm-weather destinations for locals and vacationing families. Each of these free parks offers something for everyone, from the beginning boarder to the expert action sport athlete! The Vail Skate Park, located on the upper deck of the Lionshead Parking Structure, opens when the mountain closes and summer kicks in. The Vail Rec District’s Tuesday youth skateboard clinics are a favorite at this park. Edwards Skate Park, part of the larger Freedom Park recreational complex, is an expansive concrete bowl skate park with every feature you can imagine, from mellow boxes and rails to the experts-only bowls and cradle. In Gypsum, check out the Town Hall Skate Park, a gentle concrete park open year-round thanks to the mild temperatures in this down-valley location. Bring your board, helmet and some good friends and enjoy these fun, fast-paced Vail skateboarding parks!
Drop in (literally) at the Vail Skatepark, located on the top level of the LionsHead parking structure. It's free and open to the public, summer through fall, dawn to dusk. Helmets are required. Knee pads and wrist guards are recommended.
