A Look at the Top 4 Things to Do in Vail, Colorado

Summer has come to an end: Up here in the mountains, we’ve experienced our first snow, and the nights are getting chilly. Ski season hasn’t yet begun, so many people aren’t sure exactly what to do during their visit to the Vail Valley. You can have adventures in Vail no matter the season: Here’s a look at the top 5 things to do in Vail:

Vail Mountain

Vail Mountain is at the top of the list on TripAdvisor for activities in the Vail Valley. This comes as no surprise, as the mountain is the highlight of our town. But, many people don’t think about the mountain as available for summer and fall activities as well as winter: Hiking and biking the trails is a blast during the warmer months! There is even an adventure park for the whole family to enjoy. One reviewer said:

“The activities and the views are worth the gondola fee. Ziplining is one of the best I have ever seen and been on. The roller coaster was so much fun we rode it for a second time…and we were all adults (no kids).”

Betty Ford Alpine Gardens

The Betty Ford Alpine Gardens are listed as the second most favorite activity in the Vail Valley. And, it’s easy to see why: The gardens feature the most stunning plants, flowers, and trees in the Rocky Mountains. These high altitude plants are beautiful, and strolling through the gardens is relaxing and rejuvenating. One reviewer says:

“Regardless of the time of year, this alpine paradise is not to be missed! Spend as much time as you can and discover beautiful plants and shrubs, quiet corners and vibrant hues!”

Vail Valley

Just being in Vail is listed as the 3rd best activity in the valley! We couldn’t agree more: Vail itself is home to countless restaurants, breweries, the best shopping, and much more. One reviewer has this to say:

“There is so much to do in Vail Valley! If you can think it up…you can do it here. It is not just about skiing. The rest of the year you have more to do than you ever get done in a week-long stay. You should visit for 2 weeks minimum. And the food is fantastic too.”

Booth Falls Trail

The Booth Falls Trail is the 4th most popular and beloved spot in Vail. This gorgeous hike is located only a short distance from Vail. Under 4 miles, it offers incredible views. One visitor has this to say:

“Even when the flows are low the falls are beautiful! During spring run off the falls are spectacular! One of the best hikes in the area. In just a short distance you will be in the Eagles Nest Wilderness area.”

The Vail Valley: Wonderful Any Time of the Year

Even during the slower months, when there aren’t many events happening in the area, the Vail Valley is a wonderful place to visit. Whether you decide to hike the mountain or Booth Falls Trail, or simply walk around and find a great restaurant for dinner, you are in for a treat!
