Vail Film Festival: Plan to Attend this Great Event

Do you enjoy good film? Don’t miss the 14th Annual Vail Film Festival – a weekend full of film screenings, networking events, educational projects, and workshops. This event is held in Vail each year, and is hosted by the Colorado Film Institute. This year’s festival celebrates Women Filmmakers. Every film must be written, directed, and/or produced by women. Here’s everything you need to know about attending this year’s event:

What to Expect: Schedule of Events

The festival takes place from March 30-April 2nd. There are many events and activities to enjoy during the event. Here’s a few highlights we’re looking forward to:

Opening Night Film and Party

On Thursday, March 30th, catch the opening night film (Carrie Pilby), which starts at 7:30pm at the Cascade Theater. Afterward, head to La Tour for the opening night party (10:00pm – Midnight).

Filmmaker Reception

What better time to meet filmmakers, than the filmmaker reception? Head to 10th Mountain Whisky from 4pm-6pm on Friday, March 31st.

Film Screenings and Awards Ceremonies

Saturday, April 1st is the big day: All day long, you can catch film screenings (11am – 11pm at Cascade Theaters and CineBistro), an awards ceremony (Cascade Theaters 7:00pm), and a film panel (Women in Film – Cascade Theaters, 1pm). Finish up the evening at the Closing Night Party (Larkspur, 9:30pm – Midnight).

Tickets to the Vail Film Festival

There are a few ways to enjoy the Vail Film Festival:

  • Individual Tickets: You can purchase tickets to individual films. Each ticket is $10.
  • Festival Pass: A pass is only $50, and it gets you access to all the films, parties, and events. So, if you plan on going to more than one film, or you’d like to attend the parties, this is the best option.
  • Patron Pass: If you’d like to support the festival more fully, you can become a patron. You’ll get VIP access and more!
